EVIE'S SONG
when i wrote 'evie's song' i was humming along a summer's hedge, absent in thought about the view of the path unfolding ahead of me. i felt i knew the journey. 'evie's song' was being gilded and cast and it sounded like it was always meant to be, the melody matched her golden voice and the accompaniment spoke of her beauty and serenity, embraced in a cluster of ice-like strings. i was listening to her sorrow in 'autumn leaves', to her hope in 'over the rainbow', to a spring-like joy in 'songbird', eva cassidy was my inspiration in every facet of my life and she was now entering my musical world with a melody sourced from her spirit. on the doorstep i met evie, my truly close friend. she had forgotten her key. i smiled as i greeted her, this was to be 'evie's song'.
'an absolute must for anyone interested in modern, six-string based classical music… her virtuosity is aparent from the very first track…" musician magazine, uk
'each track is like a journal extract, a highly personal record offered for sharing.'dr jm cowley

BIOGRAPHY BIOGRAPHY
recently signed by the legendary jazz guitarist martin talyor's boutique recording label the guitar label, mili is fast becoming known as one of the most original voices to have emerged in the world of guitar. mili’s debut album ‘evie’s song’, dedicated to her musical idol eva cassidy, is uniquely placed and marks a welcome return to the old-fashioned idea of writing a beautiful melody.
mili claims to have picked up the guitar out of jealousy. in fact, she was happy to play any instrument so long as she was to follow her elder sister into the local music school. when it came to it, mili failed the initial audition but was given a trial run of which she says ‘i grabbed it and ran with it’.
after a few years playing, her family relocated from her native bosnia to australia and mili was devastated. the prospects of her playing diminished, as her family struggled with leaving the war-torn country and making ends meet with low paid jobs. it left mili with a hunger to play music and she was delighted with a place at a specialist classical music school in perth. ‘any type of music would have been fine’ she recalls, as she was desperate to play.
the events in her early life meant that mili spent most of her teens practicing the classical guitar, something she is still grateful for. mili counts her mentor and tutor dr john casey as her greatest musical influence ‘his attitude to sheer hard work is remarkable and the hours he has put in for me and countless other pupils, including renowned classical guitarist craig ogden, are phenomenal. ‘
in 2005 she toured the uk and drew the attention of the guitar label. by 2008 mili had married and settled in britain for good, the contact with the guitar label was reignited and this led to her subsequent signing. ‘
mili’s unique style of playing means that she continues to collaborate with musicians from many different musical genres including jose carreras, john renbourn, tommy emmanuel, martin taylor, clive carroll, marcus bonfanti, guy ghouse and damian watkis of desert child and simon fox.

5) What kind of MP3 files are they ?
We use 192 k/bps MP3 files which is very high quality. The free samples on this website are 128 kbps quality, so there is a quite a difference.
The MP3 files contain tags with all the author, CD track listing and title details. This means that ITunes or whatever you use, will know where to put the files in its library.
6) Do they have DRM (Digital Rights Management) hassles ?
No. These are vanilla MP3 files full of musical goodness, for your personal enjoyment. We chose not to use DRM as it seems to create more problems than it solves.
7) What is the license for this purchase ?
The digital audio files are licensed in exactly the same way a purchased CD is. This means the recordings are protected by international copyright laws.
Copyright 2009 Mili Davies (PRS United Kingdom). All rights reserved. Unauthorized copying, reproduction, hiring, lending, public performance and broadcasting of this recording prohibited. All songs written by Mili Davies.
8) Contact / Help
Thanks for buying our digital audio product. Any problems with the download files, getting to your IPod etc... just ask us, we're here to help:
Email: info_miliguitar.com
NOTE: For transaction questions, credit-card statements etc... please contact Plimus at the contact given in your product email as they are the product merchant and can best help you out.
digital downloads help
This page is for store users only. Buying online allows you to save money as the products are usually cheaper than in printed format, due to the lower production costs. So if you like music and are serious about acquring scores at a fraction of the retail price, the next 10 minutes will be worth your while:
1) Making the purchase
This site uses a respected USA reseller Plimus to handle all digital sales, including payment and hosting of the download files. They take all the major credit cards and PayPal and so on. You can purchase all products in the currency of your choice.
2) What happens next ?
After Plimus verify the transaction (this is instant and max time to allow for this is 12 hours), they will email you with a link to a single file to download. Click on this and save the file somewhere. This file is roughly 60 megabytes in size, so can take a while to download. Make a cup of tea while you wait.
3) What is this file I downloaded ?
The file you just downloaded is a ZIP file. This contains all the MP3s (or PDF tabs) from the product you purchased. For Windows users, you can just double-click the file and Windows will open it up. Look for "Extract" after you do this, and you'll be asked for a place to put them, so choose a folder to place the files.
For older computers you may need to download a software tool to extract the audio files. Some examples to search for are:
Windows: WinRar, WinZip Apple Macintosh: StuffIT
NOTE for audio purchases: The files will be saved in a folder called 'Mili Davies', and then in a sub-folder called 'Evie's Song (for example). You can put the files wherever you like, but it is a good idea to choose somewhere meaningful. For example, Windows ITunes users could choose the folderMy Documents/My Music/ITunes/ITunes Music
For other MP3 players, this should be fairly similar.
